Glory means splendour, majesty. It is the display of somebody’s worth or value. Nobody can measure God’s worth. In God becoming flesh, he laid aside the fullness of his glory behind in heaven. Every time God appeared to Moses, he appeared in measured glory. Ask for another level of favour. “I will be satisfied with the dissatisfaction that needs to be satisfied over and over again.” Ever since the fall of man, man has failed to have the capacity of God in his full glory. The glory of God is powerful. When you see the way God is, he is an embodiment of goodness. God has been misrepresented to us. If you can know him the way he is, you will realize he is goodness personified.
The attribute of God:
⁃ God is Merciful; he is one that withholds judgement from those who deserve it. Merciful and gracious are two sides in a coin. You can’t have one and not the other.
⁃ God is gracious; Grace grants goodness or favour to those who don’t deserve it. The work of redemption is an act of his mercy and demon.
⁃ God is long suffering; it is the quality that bears with the things that you are not comfortable with.
⁃ God is abundant in goodness & truth; I.e. kindness, generosity, faithfulness.
Iniquity: is tendency towards sin. Trans-generational; Transgressions: every time you break a law, you have transgressed; Sin: to miss the mark; to fall short of standard.
When God’s merciful and goodness is rejected, he would not clear those guilty of iniquity. He punishes those who reject his mercy. When God is in judgement, he is because of his mercy.
Whenever God manifests his glory, there will be;
1. Revelation; God reveals himself. Revelation is key to transformation. Revelation changes your self image and as that changes, your reality changes. The thoughts that dominate your mind, will become your reality.
2. Miracles; Miracles reveals God’s power.
