Possessing the Land

By Pastor Andrew Bawa

"Then Moses sent them to spy out the land of Canaan, and said to them, “Go up this way into the South, and go up to the mountains, and see what the land is like: whether the people who dwell in it are strong or weak, few or many; whether the land they dwell in is good or bad; whether the cities they inhabit are like camps or strongholds; whether the land is rich or poor; and whether there are forests there or not. Be of good courage. And bring some of the fruit of the land.” Now the time was the season of the first ripe grapes." Numbers 13: 17-20 (NKJV)

Bible Readings: Numbers 13: 1-33, Jeremiah 29: 11.

To possess something means it is your right and inheritance. God has kept it for you. God has prepared a place for you and he sends you to see if it's a good place, just to see your reaction.

Whatever God prepares for you is good. When God prepares a table for you, instead of you to be grateful for it, you complain. God doesn't give anything bad. You reaction determines your possession. Once joy is missing, salvation is missing. Salvation is wealth, joy, health and peace.

The place to see your possession is in the place of prayer. If you miss the prayer, you don't possess. Anytime you know how to pray, you'll know how to succeed. When you go down in prayer, you will go up in life. You have to learn to pray for yourself.

When God gives you an instruction to do something and you decide to do your own, you'll see what you want to see. When you are on top of the mountain, every giant becomes small. Giant means fallen people so you shouldn't be intimidated.

Wilderness is a cursed place. When you go down to a cursed place, you cannot see blessings from that place.
