By Pastor Andrew Bawa
"Then they compelled a certain man, Simon a Cyrenian, the father of Alexander and Rufus, as he was coming out of the country and passing by, to bear His cross. And they brought Him to the place Golgotha, which is translated, Place of a Skull. Then they gave Him wine mingled with myrrh to drink, but He did not take it. And when they crucified Him, they divided His garments, casting lots for them to determine what every man should take. Now it was the third hour, and they crucified Him. And the inscription of His accusation was written above: THE KING OF THE JEWS." Mark 15: 21-26 (NKJV)

The cross is the place of humiliation, shame, curse. It's a pointer to failure. The cross is what made me and you here today. The cross is a place of love.
When a man says he loves a lady, is by the man going out to get a ring. The proof of the love of God for you is in his action. The proof of Jesus's love for you is in the miracles, deliverances he did. But that is not enough for him to have you. That can only satisfy you and not own you. Don't say you love when you are not willing to suffer for the person.
Jesus paid the ultimate price by giving his life. Until I see the price that you are willing to pay, I am not willing to yield myself to the love you are willing to give. Jesus came to take you, to redeem you, to buy you back. Every time he sees the ring, he remembers the debt but anytime he sees the cross, he remembers the death. Love can be painful to one and passion to the other. For you the place of the cross is pain but for Jesus is passion. Jesus loved you so much that he was willing to die.
Think of where you were before Jesus met you. Think about what the cross did for you. For every time you walk away from God, he is still not tired of going after you.
How much do you love him back?
