The power of the right image. Contd

"Moreover the word of the Lord came to me, saying, “Jeremiah, what do you see?” And I said, “I see a branch of an almond tree.” Then the Lord said to me, “You have seen well, for I am ready to perform My word.” Jeremiah 1: 11-12 (NKJV)

Bible Readings: Jeremiah 1: 4-12, Matthew 5: 5, Galatians 2: 20, Isaiah 49: 16, Psalms 102: 14.

What you see determines what you become. Do you see what God sees or what the world sees?

Self image is defined as an idea of ones vault, appearance or self worth. It is a mental picture of a kind that is difficult to change. It is an answer to the question “what do you believe that people think about you?” Your behaviour, attitude and personality is being shaped by what people say about you.Self image is as a result of: How you see yourself, How others see you and How you think others perceive you.

Achievement in life easily comes based on the perception of the achiever. You are believing what the world is saying rather than what the word is saying and that happens sometimes because you don’t even know what the word says about you. Go to the word of God to find your true self.

Self image has a way of affecting your confidence. It doesn’t matter what you are told because it is irrelevant, it is what you believe that matters. Don’t waste time trying to please people who don’t like you. Don’t try to fit it. Build yourself in Christ image and not self image. Don’t allow external to determine the internal. Self image affects your potential. The reason why you are not achieving so much is because you are allowing other people’s opinion affect you. Don’t allow people’s opinion put you down! Anytime you imitate someone, you can only be a second best.

Let the word of God be your mirror. You are very rare. You are an individual by yourself. You are valuable! The moment you try to copy someone, you loose your originality. If you see what God sees, you move faster in life.

"Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise" Hebrews 10: 35-36 (NKJV)

Bible Readings: Hebrews 10: 35-39, Hebrews 4: 16, 1 John 3: 21-22, Luke 11: 13, Revelation 2: 5, Psalms 11: 3, 1 Corinthians 2: 9-10, Isaiah 2: 22, Jeremiah 17: 5, Daniel 3: 18, Philippians 1vs 6, Philippians 4: 6-7, Isaiah 66: 8, Lamentation 3: 37, Romans 9: 17-18.

Confidence is very important. If you are going to get something from God, your approach is very important. Your approach has to be with confidence, boldness. It is key as children of God that confidence is the prerequisite for you to get what God has for you. One of the ways you lack confidence in the things of the spirit is when there is sin. Sin erodes confidence. Sin is a confidence killer. Confidence is something that is inward not outward. If God gives you a word and you don’t obey it, you are no longer confident to come back to God. Has your confidence been eroded by an instruction that you failed to carry? Every time you disobey, it takes away your percentage of confidence with God. The absence of confidence is the presence of condemnation.

2 types of confidence:

⁃ Confidence in the flesh. It is your confidence in your human knowledge and that is limited. Sometimes we operate in this and think it is faith. When you put your hope in man, it will fail.

⁃ Confidence in God. This is the ultimate confidence. Do not cast away the hope you have in God. Once you are hopeless, there is no more material God has to work with. God can show up at the dying minute.

As long as you are a child of God, your end will be good. If God began with you, he will finish with you. Don’t be anxious. If you still have confidence in God, what should have happened that didn’t happen, God said he will make it happen with addition. God will show up for you at the nick of time. When your confidence is in God, he will give you everything even the one you didn’t ask for. Hold on, change is coming!
