Obedience

Turn Around

By Pastor Andrew Bawa

"You have skirted this mountain long enough; turn northward." Deuteronomy 2: 3 (NKJV)

Bible Readings: Deuteronomy 1: 17, Psalms 126: 1-4, Genesis 22, 2 Timothy 4, Matthew 13: 4-5, Isaiah 45: 13, Ezra 1: 2-3, Exodus 23: 25-27, Psalms 100: 2, Psalms 22: 30, Isaiah 45: 1-3.

Many at times, people feel like when God does a 360 degree turn for you, it means you are coming back to where you started from but God is saying no. There have been certain destinies that have been locked and for God to open it, he has to turn things around.

When God decides to turn things around he wants you to soar, to achieve greatness. There has to be certain covenant you have to do for things to turn around in your life. Until you do certain things yourself, nothing will turn around.

⁃ Prompt obedience: you must be willing to obey. On whose terms do you serve God? Half obedience is not obedience. Don’t ever think you can outsmart God; he is your creator. Enjoy good things but not at the expense of God’s things. obey God’s words, his voice, his precepts, his principles. “To obey is better than sacrifice”. Disobedience is equivalent to witchcraft. Anything God asks you to do will align with his word. Nothing God will say will contradict his word.

⁃ Kingdom service: be focused on kingdom service. Engage in it. Don’t just show up in church and sit down; show up and be a vessel. Once you begin to serve the lord, God will begin to fight for you. Serve God truthfully and not men. Serve with gladness. Serve him with soul winning.

Favour

By Apostle Mike Efezino

"And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and men." Luke 2: 52 (NKJV).

Bible Readings: Luke 1: 28, Genesis 18: 1, Acts 2: 47, Psalms 41: 11, Psalms 5: 12, Psalms 35: 27,  Psalms 102: 13, Psalms 106: 4, Proverbs 8: 35, Proverbs 11: 27, Genesis 18: 1-14, Hebrews 11: 1, John 17: 4, John 17: 11.

Never abuse the favour of God on your life. When you have to grow in favour with men, you have to honour. Dishonour will lock you up. First preference of being favoured is that God chose you. Favour is a set up for increase in your life. It is a set up for God releasing things into your life. Favour is something that you can grow. You can increase favour and so if you can increase it, you can diminish it. Everybody has different levels of favour. The difference is honour. Don't abuse your relationship with God.

Benefits of Favour

⁃ Favour brings about increase to the church.

⁃ Your enemies will not triumph over you. Anything that causes you to be less than you are is your enemy.

⁃ Favour is part of your protection.

⁃ Favour opens doors for you.

⁃ Favour gives you insights.

⁃ Favour will cause people to do things for you.

⁃ Favour causes you to chill and not worry.

⁃ Favour is directly connected to wisdom. Wisdom carries favour. Obedience to the word of God carries favour.

Your daily bread is your daily assignment and when you honour God by asking him for your daily assignment, he is the one that pays you. It's not how much you've got but how much God you have. The greatest thing that can happen to you is when you can hear God. If you don't listen and obey God, he doesn't talk to you. When you obey God, you are honouring Him.

If you want God to stay in your side, don't be celebrating other people's downfall. Stay out of people's business. When you celebrate someone's failure, you are seeking mischief. When you honour someone, they rise to the level of the honour you have spoken concerning them. When favour is on you life, you see a finished work.

The people that God brought into your life, God brought them for you to minister to them and while you do that, favour locates you. People come into your life for a reason. Everything that is found in you life is a manifestation of Jesus Christ. Everything you need is produced out of Jesus. The word of God is the seed that will produce whatever it is that you need.

Giving is to activate the promise of God for your life. It's relationship that releases the favour of God.

The Word of God can be studied in seven different ways:

    ⁃    Word Study
    ⁃    Verse Study
    ⁃    Paragraph Study
    ⁃    Book Study
    ⁃    Chapter Study
⁃    Topical study: Focuses on specific topics in the Bible such as Tithe, first fruit, deliverance, etc.
⁃    Biographical study: Focuses on specific personalities in the Bible such as Joshua, Cain, etc.

Many people don't know how to live. Existence is not living, living is the quality of existence. There is a certain way God has designed for us to live.

Jesus' life is a window to how God wants us to live. He came to the earth show us the kind of life He wants us to live. God wants us to live the kind of life that will attract His blessings. Our state of being is what attracts the blessings of God.

How are you living your life? If you keep living the wrong way, you will keep getting the wrong results. For a change of result, live differently. You should live the way Jesus lived. Your faith should be a way of life not a religion.

Live:

  • By the the word of God: Let God's Word be the manual of your life.
  • By seeking God continually: God's personality attracts the best of the best. You must be living life the best way He wants you to attract his blessings.  The life you live must be the life God wants.

Are you living life to the fullest? The country you are live in doesn't determine the quality of your life. The extent to which you know God and your connection to heaven determines the quality of your life.

Remember that you cannot allow the forces of the world dictate how you live your life. When you live the way you ought to, you live a healthy life. Raise the standard of your living from your idea to God's idea.

You must live a life without:

  • Condemnation: Let your faith in your salvation work for you. Christ died for you and has saved you. You are not condemned.
  • Domination: You have been set free. The word of God has set you free, do not let ignorance enslave you. As a child of God, there is no power, force, principality, or situation that has control over your life.
  • Desperation: Don't live hopelessly. It is not over until it is over and it is not over yet. When you give up, you are saying there is no God.  Don't ever give up. When your energy as a man finishes, that's when God steps in. You have not heard the last about of your situation until God speaks over it.
  • Miscalculation: God never makes a mistake. He takes the mistakes you make and fits them into His plan for us.  Anything God allows in your life will eventually work out for your good. Even when you make mistakes, tell God to turn it around. Don't let one mistake make you feel like you are done for. Don't live a life of despair.
  • Intimidation: There is no reason to fear because God is always on your side. Don't live a life of fear. Live boldly.
  • Limitation: You determine how far you will go. Don't limit yourself by making small plans or aspirations. When you see how big God is, you will realize that limiting him is a sin. As you desire, God builds. Live without limitation
  • Separation:  Don't let anything separate you from God. God does not just order our steps but also our stops; that means you must build a close relationship with Him such He is in complete control of your life.

God loves you. He wants you to live the life he has designed for you. He wants you to be elevated.

Elevation: Focus

By Pastor Andrew Bawa

“If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully keep all his commands that I am giving you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the world." - Deuteronomy 28:1

Bible Reading: 1 Samuel 2:8, 3 John 1:2, Jeremiah 29:11, Proverbs 22:29, 2 Peter 1, Hebrew 6:11, James 1:17, Mark 4:23

Starting a task isn't as important as actually finishing it. Even if you face challenges on the way, you must muster the strength and courage to keep going. Like John Maxwell said, "even when you fail, you should fail forward"

God's plan for you is not to be beneath but to be above only. As a child of God, you should always experience elevation. That is God's purpose for you: to exceed expectations and finish the work for which he created you.

Nevertheless, you must commit yourself to three specific requirements from God. You must be diligent, focused and obedient to God.

Diligence: To get to the top, you must be very diligent with your tasks. When you find your purpose and calling, pursue it persistently and patiently.

Focus: The key to your elevation is more than working hard, you must remain focused.  When you are focused; you will not be easily distracted, discouraged or delayed.

Obedience: There is a blessing in being obedient. Being blessed means you are elevated and taken to a higher level. God cherishes those who obey him swiftly.

Remember it is not the color but the content of the balloon that determines how high it goes. Your content determines the extent of your elevation. What you do and how you do it determines your elevation.

Provoking the harvest 2

By Pastor Andrew Bawa

"Receive, please, instruction from His mouth, and lay up His words in your heart. If you return to the Almighty, you will be built up; you will remove iniquity far from your tents. Then you will lay your gold in the dust, and the gold of Ophir among the stones of the brooks. Yes, the Almighty will be your gold[a]and your precious silver; for then you will have your delight in the Almighty, and lift up your face to God. You will make your prayer to Him, He will hear you, and you will pay your vows. You will also declare a thing, and it will be established for you; so light will shine on your ways. When they cast you down, and you say, ‘Exaltation will come!’ Then He will save the humble person. He will even deliver one who is not innocent; yes, he will be delivered by the purity of your hands." - Job 22: 22-30 (NJKV)

Bible Passages: Hebrews 7: 1-9, Malachi 3: 8-12, Deuteronomy 28: 1, Joshua 6: 17-19, Matt 23: 23, Genesis 3: 2-4, Leviticus 27: 30-32, Malachi 3: 19, Genesis 31: 24, 29, Genesis 28: 20-22, Genesis 33: 4, Haggai 2: 8-9, 2 Corinthians 9: 6-8, Genesis 31: 9, Genesis 32: 31-35.

Obedience to God is the number one thing that provokes your harvest. Obedience begat prosperity.

The next thing is to give. You must be willing to give a portion of your blessing as an offering.  If you want to continue to receive, you must give.

The first stage of giving is tithing. If you do not give tithes, things will be tight for you. When you tithe, you give back to Jesus. It is more blessed to give than to receive.

Tithing is giving God 10% of what He gives you. Tithing has been in existence before the law [i.e. the old testament], during the law and during grace. God wants you to give him 10% so that He can bless the remaining 90%. Tithing is part of your spiritual duty.

When you give God your tithe, He pours out blessings on you, preserves you, your harvest and your seeds, protects and guarantees your possessions and reveals to you His plans to provide you.

Provoking Your Harvest

By Pastor Andrew Bawa

"Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest." - John 4:35

Bible Reading: Exodus 23:16, Leviticus 23: 9-14, Deuteronomy 8:8; 11:10-11; 16:13-15, Matthew 13:4, Genesis 26:1-6, 12-14, John 2:5, 1 Samuel 15:22.

To provoke is to stir up, to stimulate, to give rise or induce or to bring about. You provoke your harvest by "calling those things which are not as though they were." (Romans 4:17)

There are certain things you need to do to provoke your harvest. You must understand and follow the principles of harvest:

  1. Whatever you sow, you shall reap, don't expect to reap what you did not sow.

  2. You reap in the same kind as you had sown.

  3. You reap in a different season from the one you had sown in.

  4. You reap more than you sow.

  5. You reap according to the proportion you have sown.

  6. You reap full harvests: There is no such thing as a partial harvest but the kind of seed you sow determines the kind of harvest you will have.

  7. You cannot do anything about last year's harvest.

Famine is a time of lack, scarcity and drought. Isaac lived in a time of famine, yet he experienced harvest. He knew, understood and followed the principles of harvest.

To provoke your harvest, you must be obedient and move by faith. Total and complete obedience to God results in speedy harvest. The heavens open up to you when you obey God wholeheartedly.

You must act and move by faith. God is not a debtor, he wants to move you forward but you must be willing to be obedient and move when he needs you to.

You may be experiencing stagnancy in an area of your life because of your disobedience or partial obedience. A delayed obedience is disobedience.

If you want to provoke your harvest, obey God.
