"Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise" Hebrews 10: 35-36 (NKJV)

Bible Readings: Hebrews 10: 35-39, Hebrews 4: 16, 1 John 3: 21-22, Luke 11: 13, Revelation 2: 5, Psalms 11: 3, 1 Corinthians 2: 9-10, Isaiah 2: 22, Jeremiah 17: 5, Daniel 3: 18, Philippians 1vs 6, Philippians 4: 6-7, Isaiah 66: 8, Lamentation 3: 37, Romans 9: 17-18.

Confidence is very important. If you are going to get something from God, your approach is very important. Your approach has to be with confidence, boldness. It is key as children of God that confidence is the prerequisite for you to get what God has for you. One of the ways you lack confidence in the things of the spirit is when there is sin. Sin erodes confidence. Sin is a confidence killer. Confidence is something that is inward not outward. If God gives you a word and you don’t obey it, you are no longer confident to come back to God. Has your confidence been eroded by an instruction that you failed to carry? Every time you disobey, it takes away your percentage of confidence with God. The absence of confidence is the presence of condemnation.

2 types of confidence:

⁃ Confidence in the flesh. It is your confidence in your human knowledge and that is limited. Sometimes we operate in this and think it is faith. When you put your hope in man, it will fail.

⁃ Confidence in God. This is the ultimate confidence. Do not cast away the hope you have in God. Once you are hopeless, there is no more material God has to work with. God can show up at the dying minute.

As long as you are a child of God, your end will be good. If God began with you, he will finish with you. Don’t be anxious. If you still have confidence in God, what should have happened that didn’t happen, God said he will make it happen with addition. God will show up for you at the nick of time. When your confidence is in God, he will give you everything even the one you didn’t ask for. Hold on, change is coming!

What are your expectations?

By Pastor Drew Ugbogbo

"Know also that wisdom is like honey for you: If you find it, there is a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off." Proverbs 24: 14 (NKJV)

Bible Readings: 2Kings 2: 1-15, Philippians 4: 13, Matthew 4: 11, Luke 22: 42-43, Proverbs 10: 24, Mark 11: 24, 2Kings 4: 14-17, Mark 5: 25-34, Acts 12: 16, Mark 10: 46-52, 1Chronicles 4: 10, John 14: 13-14, Psalms 62: 5, Jeremiah 7.

When you find the knowledge of wisdom, there is a reward. Expectation set the pace for our distinction. It's our expectation that brings out testimony. When we pray without expectation it's like playing soccer without a goalpost.

Expectation is a strong hope or belief that something will happen or you will get something that you desire. Expectation and desire can be interchanged. You must fight off all oppositions upfront if you are to get your expectations.

Examples of oppositions include; procrastination, disobedience to God's instruction, delays, lack of trust, and lack of faith to act on God's word.

Until you are willing to accept God's expectations for your life don't expect your own expectations to come forth. Only those who participate with utmost dedication and expectation will receive a reward. Only those who meet their expectations are celebrated and honoured. Your expectations come first before your prayers. Until you have expectations, you pray aimlessly.

Example of people in the bible that prayed without expectations are; the church that was praying when Peter was locked in prison, the Shunammite woman. When you pray without expectations, when the answer comes you will not know it. Some people that had expectations where; the woman with the issue of blood, blind Bartimaeus, Jabez.

You can't win fighting the crowd, direct your energy to the right cause. Your expectations must be on God and God alone!
