Serve God

What are your expectations?

By Pastor Drew Ugbogbo

"Know also that wisdom is like honey for you: If you find it, there is a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off." Proverbs 24: 14 (NKJV)

Bible Readings: 2Kings 2: 1-15, Philippians 4: 13, Matthew 4: 11, Luke 22: 42-43, Proverbs 10: 24, Mark 11: 24, 2Kings 4: 14-17, Mark 5: 25-34, Acts 12: 16, Mark 10: 46-52, 1Chronicles 4: 10, John 14: 13-14, Psalms 62: 5, Jeremiah 7.

When you find the knowledge of wisdom, there is a reward. Expectation set the pace for our distinction. It's our expectation that brings out testimony. When we pray without expectation it's like playing soccer without a goalpost.

Expectation is a strong hope or belief that something will happen or you will get something that you desire. Expectation and desire can be interchanged. You must fight off all oppositions upfront if you are to get your expectations.

Examples of oppositions include; procrastination, disobedience to God's instruction, delays, lack of trust, and lack of faith to act on God's word.

Until you are willing to accept God's expectations for your life don't expect your own expectations to come forth. Only those who participate with utmost dedication and expectation will receive a reward. Only those who meet their expectations are celebrated and honoured. Your expectations come first before your prayers. Until you have expectations, you pray aimlessly.

Example of people in the bible that prayed without expectations are; the church that was praying when Peter was locked in prison, the Shunammite woman. When you pray without expectations, when the answer comes you will not know it. Some people that had expectations where; the woman with the issue of blood, blind Bartimaeus, Jabez.

You can't win fighting the crowd, direct your energy to the right cause. Your expectations must be on God and God alone!

Serving the Lord Within A Corrupt System

By Pastor Drew Ugbogbo

"Now the sons of Eli were sons of Belial; they knew not the Lord. Now Samuel did not yet know the Lord, neither was the word of the Lord yet revealed unto him." - 1 Samuel 2:12, 3:7

Bible Reading: 1 Samuel 2, 3; Revelation 3:20

How do you live in a system that is so corrupt and still stand out? To be corrupt means to behave badly or to do things in the wrong and dishonest way.

Sin has a way of searching us out. Whenever you have a desire to serve God, He would have the desire to come after you. Samuel refused to be influenced by the things of the world, he refused to allow peer pressure get to him. Sins like theft, violence, illicit sex and others were common in the times of Samuel. Sin has eyes, ears and mouth.

It is important to start training children early. Everything we do in life has a reward. The consequences of sin is death.

The consequences of the sins include spiritual darkness, judgement, God's wrath. premature death amongst others but the benefit of serving God are exhortation, anointing, wonder, excellence, success, protection and others

You need to re-purpose your heart to serve God. It pays to serve Him!
