Thanksgiving

Life of abundance

By Pastor David Chigbundu

"The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly." John 10: 10 (NKJV)

Bible Readings: John 11: 40, 2 Chronicles 20: 20-24, 1 Samuel 1: 10-19, Matthew 25: 29, Luke 1: 8, 2 Chronicles 22: 11-22, Isaiah 64: 1-4, Psalms 144: 7-8.

We are so quick to know the how and when the how is given, we back off. Abundance is having more than you need. It is made available to everyone that is ready to meet the requirements.

5 requirements God has of us to live in abundance

⁃ Thanksgiving: Your thanksgiving had the ability to raise things back to life. The ability to be grateful to God regardless of your circumstances.

⁃ Tears: God responds to two types of tears; tears from a broken and contrary heart and tears about yourself but beyond yourself.

⁃ Service: What you are doing has to benefit God. What are you doing with your gift? You have to serve in the house of God. You are meant to be planted and flourish.

⁃ Time: For God to visit you, you have to stay steadfast in him. What are you doing to your time?

⁃ Substance: God requires your substance in order for you to reach abundance.

An hindrance to getting to that abundance is the voice of the enemy. If you listen to that voice, you will live a life of oppression. You need to silence that voice.

Prayers.

1. Every voice of the enemy, I silence you.

2. Every Spirit of fear ministering to me, I cast you out.

3. Lord in the name of Jesus, open the heavens and come down in my situation.

4. Let every mountain in my life, family melt down now.

5. Whatever mountain against NGWC, lord open the heavens and let them melt before you.

6. Father, let your fire go before me and let every thing burn.

7. Whatever system that is standing against me, lord shake every shakeable and let the powers that be in them fall.

8. Father let every enemy of yours who is my enemy, learn the reason for your fame.

Understanding the power of praise and worship

By Evangelist Ayo Olatunji

"Behold, at that time I will deal with all who afflict you; I will save the lame, and gather those who were driven out; I will appoint them for praise and fame in every land where they were put to shame." Zephaniah 3: 19 (NKJV)

Bible Readings: Revelation 4: 7-11, John 9: 24, Psalms 133: 1, Psalms 135: 2-5, 1 Chronicles 16: 29, Psalms 29: 2, Psalms 100: 2-3, John 10: 10, Malachi 2: 1, Colossians 3: 15-17, 1 Thessalonians 5: 16, Philippians 4: 6, John 6: 11, Romans 4: 20, Psalms 100: 2-4, Psalms 64: 3, Psalms 50: 23, Ephesians 5: 18-19, 2 Chronicles 20: 22, Ephesians 5: 19-20, 1 Chronicles 10: 10, Proverbs 10: 25, 1 Timothy 6: 6, Psalms 143: 6, Psalms 95: 6-7, John 4: 20-24, 1 John 1: 5-6, Isaiah 29: 13, 1 Thessalonians 5: 33, Psalms 95: 1-7.

Praise is our response to God for what he has done, what he is doing and for what he is going to do. It is glorifying God. We are created to give him praise.

There are 3 categories of angels; Angel Micheal who goes for war, Angel Gabriel who is the messenger and Angel lucifer who was for praise and worship.Whether you like it or not, you are in a war. Life is for soldiers. An evil adversary exists! To deny the existence of the evil one is to deny the bible in itself.

In genesis, he was the snake, in revelation, he was the dragon. What the devil is after is "that life". You can have a life but not be living. The reason why you are created is to worship, praise and thank God. There is a difference between all three. Worship relates to God's holiness. The bottom line of thanksgiving is appreciation.

Attributes of thanksgiving:

- It is the will of God.

- It is an expression of the fullness of the Holy Spirit.

Why do we thank God?

- It is the protocol of heaven.

- It validates other forms of praised.

- It is the key to unlocking the miraculous.

- It is an expression of our faith in God.

- It sets a seed of already received blessings.

Attributes of praise:

⁃ it's the appropriate way we relate to God.

⁃ It guarantees access to God.

⁃ It opens the way for a God to intervene for On our behalf.

⁃ Praise is weapon of spiritual warfare

⁃ It is beautiful unto God

⁃ The ministry of predestination is in praise

Qualification for praise:

1. Come to God without an achiever's mentality.

2. Be thankful.

Disqualification for praise:

1. Murmuring and complains

2. The spirit of heaviness.

3. Discontentment.

4. Holding onto the past & negative events.

5. Offences.

Worship is the end purpose of gospel and history. Worship is about the total submission. The right way to worship God is in spirit and in truth.

Result for worship:

⁃ You hear God's voice

⁃ You enter into a place of rest and total quietness.

Voice of Thanksgiving

By Pastor Andrew Bawa

"That I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving, and tell of all thy wondrous works." Psalm 26:7 (NKJV).

Bible Passages: Jeremiah 33: 11, Psalm 5: 3,  2 Corinthians 8: 7-12, 2 Corinthians 9: 5-11.

Voices are expressions of the gift of God in you. When you praise, thank and pray it is activated in heaven. The reason why God doesn't hear your voice is because when ever they come to him is to ask, it's for themselves. They lack gratitude. They don't take time to remember the things God hasn't done but only the things that he hasn't.

Whenever you come before God's presence, what voice is he hearing? The only voice that comes to God is the voice of praise and thanksgiving. God created you so he already knows what you need and he will do it and give you when it is time so why do you keep complaining. When you praise, you go into God's presence, then the trinity comes into your presence and are excited and make people hold your blessings to get them across to you.

As heaven hears your voice, you will rejoice. Dancing also has a voice. Give yourself totally to God and give your substance also.

Thanksgiving for Life

By Pastor Andrew Bawa

"What shall I render to the Lord, For all His benefits toward me?" Psalm 116: 12 (NKJV)

Bible Readings: Psalm 116: 13, Psalm 116: 17-19, Psalm 26: 7.

If you are grateful, you cannot be grounded. Thanksgiving doesn't just solidify what you have but also expands what you will get. When you are thankful, you expand your territory. If you can thank God, he will do more. If you can be grateful for where you are, you will expand you to where you are supposed to be. Even if you have lost certain things, it is because of God you haven't lost everything. God has been faithful. From the beginning of the year till now, God has been saving you.

Every time you are to give thanks, it has to be a sacrifice. Your thanksgiving has a voice. Thank God not just with your seed but also from your heart.

Come before God with thanksgiving.

But God!

By Pastor Andrew Bawa

"But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ." - 1 Corinthians 15: 57 (NKJV)

If you take some time to really  think and reflect on your life, you will realize that there are many reasons to be grateful to God. The fact that you are alive is reason enough to be grateful to God. Your situation could have been worse but God.

But God has kept you alive. He has sustained you and carried you on his wings regardless of what life throws at you. He has given us victory through Christ!

God loves a grateful heart. Those who complain and murmur never amount to anything. Your gratitude to God ensures your prayers get speedy responses. Before you get to where you want to be, thank God for where you are!

Give Thanks

By Pastor Andrew Bawa

"It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord, and to sing praises unto thy name, O Most High: To shew forth thy lovingkindness in the morning, and thy faithfulness every night, Upon an instrument of ten strings, and upon the psaltery; upon the harp with a solemn sound. For thou, Lord, hast made me glad through thy work: I will triumph in the works of thy hands. O Lord, how great are thy works! and thy thoughts are very deep.A brutish man knoweth not; neither doth a fool understand this." - Psalm 92:1-6 (KJV)

Bible Reading: Isaiah 12:3

Those who are thankful are ready for their take-off. As a believer, you are an eagle, you were made to take off and soar. This is your season of taking off but first, you must learn to be grateful.

When you are grateful, you will never be grounded. When you show gratitude, your altitude scale goes high. When you are thankful, your tank will be full. Thanksgiving, praise and adoration are synonymous to lifting your hands as a sign of gratitude.

God uses thanksgiving to measure your heart, so how grateful are you? Are you really grateful? Not just in your speech but in your heart. Thanksgiving is the master key to heaven. Complaints will get you into the Holy of Holies, thanksgiving will. When you are thankful, you gain access into God's presence.

You can't be thankful without being joyful. When you are thankful, you are joyful and when you are joyful, you will be fruitful. Joy is a fruit of the Spirit. When you have Holy Spirit dwelling in you, you will be fruitful. Fruitfulness means seeing the results. No one can argue with results.

If you think there is no reason to thank God, thank him for being alive. That's a good start.

Sacrifice of Praise

By Pastor Andrew Bawa

"And Solomon loved the Lord, walking in the statutes of David his father: only he sacrificed and burnt incense in high places. And the king went to Gibeon to sacrifice there; for that was the great high place: a thousand burnt offerings did Solomon offer upon that altar. In Gibeon the Lord appeared to Solomon in a dream by night: and God said, Ask what I shall give thee." - 1 Kings 3:3-5 (KJV)

Bible Reading: Hebrews 13:15-16, 1 Kings 3:12

When you make a sacrifice to God, you are offering something valuable. A sacrifice is a humbling experience. A proud man cannot make a sacrifice. A proud person cannot praise God. If you do not learn to give God the glory all the time, you are taking his place in your life.

Don't be too sophisticated to give God glory and praise. David, the psalmist calls this a sacrifice of praise because you have to sacrifice your pride to give God praise. Some are too proud to worship God or dance and lift their hands to give him praise. God resists the proud.

Solomon offered a sacrifice of a thousand and that night God repaid Him - with wisdom. When you praise God, you are giving Him the only thing He can't give Himself. You can be sure He will repay you.

Why should you praise God? Praise him for your salvation, your redemption, the gift of the Holy Ghost and the gift of life. Those are the basis of your praise. When you praise God, He will answer your prayers, bless you and give you long life, distinguish and honor you, grant you an outstanding life, give you wisdom and riches.

Praise God all the time.
