Worship

Praise until something happens

By Pastor Matthew Kassim

"God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” John 4: 24 (NKJV)

Bible Readings: John 4: 21-24, Psalms 34: 1, Psalms 57: 7, Psalms 104: 33, John 14: 6, John 15: 13, Matthew 5.

In life, you need a formula to be able to understand it. Different people have different formulas; some are good, some are bad. It is difficult for us to praise God when we are going through pains. If your praise is on, things will work out for you.

Worship is like a love song, love poem you give to God. Worship is a relationship that comes from the heart. It is an expression from the heart. The Holy Spirit has to align with your spirit to revel Jesus to you for your worship to be accepted. Everything about worship is centred on Jesus. If can worship God from the depth of your heart, all things will work together for your good. Instrument is very peculiar in the sight of God when worship is involved. The anointing makes the difference.

To get into the heart of Jesus, you need to worship.

Down but not out

By Pastor Andrew Bawa

"So they picked up Jonah and threw him into the sea, and the sea ceased from its raging." Jonah 1: 15 (NKJV)

Bible Readings: Jonah 1: 1-3, 1 Corinthians 15: 9, Micah 7: 8, Jonah 2.

You may be down but you are not out!

God's design is to move you forward, but in life, you realize you are moving backwards. Every time you are discouraged in life, you will be going down. If you don't address the issue, it takes you further down away from your purpose in life.

Discouragement is a spirit because it leads to depression. Once you are discouraged, you need to address it immediately. Many a times, God wants to do things in our life but we get discouraged. If God speaks something to you and you don't like it, instead of fleeing or keeping quiet, talk to him. God likes to talk to you and have conversations.

Every assignment has an adversary. What is it that has kept you down? Somehow in life, everybody gets to this level (a level where they are discouraged) but not everybody stays there; they don't allow the discouragement to overwhelm them. It's not your falling that is the issue, it's what you do when you are down there that matters. Do you have strength to pray when you are low? Prayer is the weapon you need. Pray anyways whether you feel like it or you don't.

What is prayer? Prayer is a conversation. It is your thoughts back to God and God talking to you. When the enemy wants to attack you, the first thing he does is to cut off your prayer life. There is nothing inside of you that God doesn't know but you not saying it to him, is stopping your miracle.

Even when you are down, don't forget to praise God. If you can give God the praise at the lowest point of your life, he will raise you up. What makes you rise up is your passion. If you can only hold on to God, he will take you to your place of fulfillment and purpose. God is able to change your night into day if you can only praise him and worship him there. When you surrender, God takes you to your place.

The hardest thing to do is to thank God when you are down.

Understanding the power of praise and worship

By Evangelist Ayo Olatunji

"Behold, at that time I will deal with all who afflict you; I will save the lame, and gather those who were driven out; I will appoint them for praise and fame in every land where they were put to shame." Zephaniah 3: 19 (NKJV)

Praise is our response to God for what he has done, what he is doing and for what he is going to do. It is glorifying God. We are created to give him praise.

There are 3 categories of angels; Angel Micheal who goes for war, Angel Gabriel who is the messenger and Angel lucifer who was for praise and worship.Whether you like it or not, you are in a war. Life is for soldiers. An evil adversary exists! To deny the existence of the evil one is to deny the bible in itself.

In genesis, he was the snake, in revelation, he was the dragon. What the devil is after is "that life". You can have a life but not be living. The reason why you are created is to worship, praise and thank God. There is a difference between all three. Worship relates to God's holiness. The bottom line of thanksgiving is appreciation.

Attributes of thanksgiving:

- It is the will of God.

- It is an expression of the fullness of the Holy Spirit.

Why do we thank God?

- It is the protocol of heaven.

- It validates other forms of praised.

- It is the key to unlocking the miraculous.

- It is an expression of our faith in God.

- It sets a seed of already received blessings.

Attributes of praise:

⁃ it's the appropriate way we relate to God.

⁃ It guarantees access to God.

⁃ It opens the way for a God to intervene for On our behalf.

⁃ Praise is weapon of spiritual warfare

⁃ It is beautiful unto God

⁃ The ministry of predestination is in praise

Qualification for praise:

1. Come to God without an achiever's mentality.

2. Be thankful.

Disqualification for praise:

1. Murmuring and complains

2. The spirit of heaviness.

3. Discontentment.

4. Holding onto the past & negative events.

5. Offences.

Worship is the end purpose of gospel and history. Worship is about the total submission. The right way to worship God is in spirit and in truth.

Result for worship:

⁃ You hear God's voice

⁃ You enter into a place of rest and total quietness.

Worship 3

By Pastor Andrew Bawa

"Then Jehoshaphat stood up in the assembly of Judah and Jerusalem at the temple of the Lord in the front of the new courtyard and said: “Lord, the God of our ancestors, are you not the God who is in heaven? You rule over all the kingdoms of the nations. Power and might are in your hand, and no one can withstand you. Our God, did you not drive out the inhabitants of this land before your people Israel and give it forever to the descendants of Abraham your friend? They have lived in it and have built in it a sanctuary for your Name, saying, ‘If calamity comes upon us, whether the sword of judgment, or plague or famine, we will stand in your presence before this temple that bears your Name and will cry out to you in our distress, and you will hear us and save us.’ ” - 2 Chronicles 20:5-9

Bible Reading: 2 Chronicles 20:1-19, Isaiah 54:15

Worship increases God's domain. His presence is everywhere but His manifest presence is not everywhere. By worshipping God, we are basking in his manifest presence.

Worship confers dominion. It gives us authority and opens doors. It open up destinies and new realms of opportunities. It elevates us and distinguishes us from others.

Check your life. If the devil is coming against you, you must be doing something right. The forces of darkness are always at odds with true worshippers.

Fear not, God is saying "Do not be afraid." He wants you to confront your confronters. They know your God. They will surrender to you. Worship gives you dominion!

True worshippers enjoy the manifest presence of God. They are not afraid of any advances of the devil. They operate in the supernatural power of God. They keep going forward.

Are you a true worshipper?
